United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The IWASE COSFA Group is fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We map our core sustainability themes to specific SDGs and proactively implement business practices that support their realization. We are committed to deepening SDG awareness across the entire Group.
United Nations Global Compact

IWASE COSFA became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact in November 2019. Through this CSR report, we reaffirm our commitment to its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

We endorse the Keidanren Charter of Corporate Behavior and the Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity, both promoted by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren). IWASE COSFA remains dedicated to fulfilling our social and environmental responsibilities through principled corporate conduct.

EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment

Since 2017, IWASE COSFA has participated in sustainability assessments by EcoVadis, a leading global provider of business sustainability ratings. In the 2024 evaluation, we were awarded a Gold medal, placing us among the top 5% of all companies assessed.
EcoVadis, headquartered in France, offers CSR evaluations to over 150,000 companies across 250 industries in more than 185 countries through its collaborative platform. Companies are assessed based on four key criteria: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
In this most recent assessment, IWASE COSFA’s performance was recognized as being in the top tier of global sustainability leaders.

Recognized as a Certified Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2025 (SME Category)

At IWASE COSFA, we are committed to promoting employee health by continually improving working styles, enhancing welfare programs through medical insurance coverage, subsidizing optional tests during health checkups, and providing free masks. In recognition of these efforts, we were certified as a 2025 Health and Productivity Management Organization (SME Category).
“Kurumin” Certification for Childcare Support

Having met the required standards, we were awarded the “Kurumin” certification in May 2021 as a Childcare Supportive Company.

Climate Change Response
Following former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga’s policy speech on October 26, 2020—where he announced Japan’s goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050—carbon neutrality has become a national focus.
IWASE COSFA is committed to supporting the transition to a carbon-neutral society.
- We aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by 70% (Scope 1 and 2).
- We target sourcing 50% of our electricity from renewable energy.
Waste Management
We are working to reduce waste and utilize resources efficiently as part of our environmental initiatives.
- We are committed to ensuring industrial waste emissions remain below 1% of sales volumes as we move towards 2030.
Water Conservation
We monitor water usage and wastewater discharge on an ongoing basis to reduce environmental impact and encourage water recycling.
To ensure the sustainable use of this limited resource, we are committed to further strengthening our water conservation efforts.
- We aim to reduce total annual water consumption by 1% each year; as a single year target.
Our goal is to achieve these targets by 2030.
Biodiversity Conservation
We recognize that our operations in cosmetic and health food ingredients are dependent on biodiversity and can affect ecosystems.
We work together with stakeholders to contribute to the conservation and restoration of biodiversity as part of our mission to realize a sustainable society.
